With over 25 years in the print and packaging industry, Debbie has experience in a number of senior positions and sectors.
Her working life started at Harlands of Hull, a label producer where she managed accounts using her modern languages degree to deal with both UK and French clients. After a period at Gilchrist Brothers, working in reprographics and completing an MBA, Debbie then moved to DS Smith and became the General Manager for their Pre-Print business, working to supply blue chip FMCG customers across Europe.
In 2001 she established Avant-Tout (Management Services) Ltd, taking advantage of a niche market to provide key skills within the industry. This focused on delivering technical capability, account management and project delivery in multi-language environments.
Avant-Tout now supports businesses through a number of services especially in improving communication and networking channels and organising major events. Debbie is a Consultant Director of EFIA UK Ltd, Director of FTA Europe and represents EFIA on the GPMA.
With a passion for developing broader capabilities in the industry, Debbie has also co-founded Women in Packaging. This is an initiative to connect, support and recognise female employees across the diverse packaging industry: from packaging concept through to delivery to the consumer.
She is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers and is a keynote speaker on print and packaging issues.
Jo began her career as a commercial trainee with The Dow Chemical Company in 1992 after graduating from UMIST with a First Class Honours BSC. in Textiles, Economics and Management.
After 14 years, having progressed to Global Product Director through various foam & film roles in Germany, Switzerland and the UK, Jo joined RogenSi, an Australian headquartered Management Consultancy, based in London. Here Jo honed her coaching, presenting & pitching skills to multinational organisations before moving to Sun Chemical in 2007 as European Packaging Marketing Director. In 2011, Jo moved to LINPAC Group where she held the role of Vice President Marketing & Innovation and achieved her Chartered Institute of Marketing Accreditation. She established PHD Marketing & Strategy in 2014.
Jo specialises in business strategy & marketing consulting – linking business and organisational strategy to external market positioning and communications. She works across a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceuticals, plastics, print & packaging and is considered a trusted advisor to numerous business directors across the U.K.
She established PHD Marketing & Strategy in 2014 …and is today a Board member of the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) and Non Executive Director of Cornelius Group PLC.
